Introduction - Tatler Media pack

1) Look at the  Tatler Media Pack . Go to page 2: how does the editor introduce the magazine? Describing the model in detail by using mouth - watering and very catching words so they can grab the readers attention. 2) Now go to page 4 of the Media Pack. Focus on the print magazine . List the key demographic details: age, gender %, ABC1 % (social class), HHI (Household Income), % of those living in London and the South East. What do these demographic details suggest about the average Tatler reader? - gender - female - ABC1 = 83% - HHI =£ 261.572 - London/South East - 70% The Readership is 163.000 3) Look at page 6. What do Tatler readers think about fashion? How much do they spend? They spend £ 843 on fashion in the Past year. After watching an advertisement on the magazine they state that they often they buy the products. In addition, the magazine readers own Designer Fashion. 4) Go to page 10. 1) List the people, places and groups represented in the poster. E.g. men, women, teenagers etc. - teenagers - gang - like clothes - weapons e.g. baseball bat -look scary 2) Are there any stereotypes you can identify? Teenagers are not what you think they are ( majority of the people's opinion on teenagers are they are a bad influence ) 3) What is the preferred reading of this poster? The Teenagers will understand the world and how it works as they grow up 4) What is the oppositional reading of this poster? That children are a bad influence and that teenagers will ruin their lives by coming in contact with these things

January assessment: learner response
