Audience and Industry

  Audience 1) Who is the target audience for Doctor Who?  In my opinion, it is mainly aimed at families including the ages of  7 - 45 years old. 2) What  audience psychographic groups  might particularly enjoy Doctor Who? Majority of the audience enjoy watching Doctor Who because they like genre and theme of the episode which is action, mystery and sci-fi. 3) What audience pleasures are offered by An Unearthly Child? Apply Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory to the episode. Make sure you provide specific examples from the episode to support your ideas. Total marks - 19/42 Grade - 3  WWW- Although this isn't where we want to be at the end of the course, this is a great lesson in exam technique. It's clear you know the CSPs, terminology and theory but need to develop the focus and structure of your exam answers to maximise your marks. EBI - Question focus is crucial: in Q4 you clearly know the Galaxy advert but don't focus on narrative and           narrative theory.    - Your 12 mark answers need more depth and organisation. E.g. your Q7 Tatler answer drifts into repetition. Instead, plan 3 detailed paragraphs : Title, colour and typography; cover lines; central image. Then link each paragraph back to Q - social and cultural contexts of British society. 2) Look at Question 3 in the assessment - the media analysis of the Under Armour advert. Language analysis:    1) Choose three key moments in the episode and write an  NCIS  analysis for those clips.
