Advertising assessment learner response

Advertising and Marketing assessment feedback:

WWW: This is an impressive assessment – well done! I particularly like the textual reference in the OMO answer with reference to bandwagon and ‘millions of women’ as this does indeed tell us a lot about gender relations in the 1950s. It’s also clear from your NHS Represent answer that you know the CSP extremely well.

EBI: You clearly know the CSPs very well which is so important. However, I think we could work on a couple of areas of exam technique. One is very simple – don’t say the ‘reader’ if it is a TV advert, use ‘audience’ instead. Secondly, you drift off the question in the final question. It asks about reinforcing or subverting stereotypes but the second half of your answer reads more like a general analysis of the campaign. For this question, I would have focused on gender and race/ethnicity and provided specific examples from the advert for moments stereotypes are subverted and also reinforced. You already make these points in places but need a little more specific focus on the question.

Reflecting on your assessment, what media terminology and Advertising CSPs do you most need to revise before your next Media exam? How will you do this?

- stereotypes.
This is because i do get mixed up up between reinforced and subvert and sometimes do struggle to use it when analysing or answering a question. I will do this by making flash cards and also doing more analysis questions online. I will also like to make flashcards on quizlet of all the media terminolgy.
