Year 1 reflection

 1) Look at your tracker for Year 1 blogposts (this will have been emailed to you by your teacher either before the summer or this week). Make a list of any CSPs you haven't completed. We will cover these in lessons later in the year but you WILL need to complete the blog tasks before you take any exams.

Zoella (However I have finished the blog task during July)

2) Which CSPs from Year 1 are you most confident on?

I am mostly confident in Magazine and Advertisement category as it was one the first topics we covered; I can also identify the different terminologies and analyse them in depth.

3) Which CSPs from Year 1 are you least confident on?

The least confident topics that I find difficult is video games. Thsi is because I don't think I know a lot about Video Games and don't know how to approach the question when it appears in an assessment.

4) Your upcoming assessment will only be on CSPs from the first half of the year leading up to lockdown. Write a brief summary of the following CSPs to start your revision (Reveal magazine is done for you as ):

Doctor Strange:

Doctor Strange is a Hollywood movie and is also classified as a blockbuster movie as well. It has a large amount of editing and promoted the film through the traditional way. For example, Imax, Poster, Teasers/Trailers. They also had a massive amount of budget put into the movie.

I, Daniel Blake:

I,Daniel Blake is a low budget film that was very successful and used many other ways to promote the movie such as projection on the houses of commons, #WeAreAllDanielBlake. This movie was directed by Ken Loach.

Magazines - Reveal: a celebrity magazine aimed mainly at working-class women focusing on gossip, celebrity and motherhood for just 99p. Offers quite a traditional, stereotypical representation of women.

Magazines - Tatler:

Tatler is a very expensive magazine aimed at higher class people. The word 'Talter' means celebrity gossip. There were stereotypes that reinforced luxury. However, most of the models on the cover are women suggesting the magazines are targetted at women, this shows women stereotypes.

Advertising: OMO:

OMO shows that women are inferior than men. This reinforcing the women stereotype that wives/ women have to work for men/ husband.

Advertising: NHS Represent:

NHS tried to influence people through a rapper and made a music video. In the video, she showed equality and a disablity stereotype as she clearly indicates a message that no matter who are and what job you you need to donate blood that need blood for them to survive. At the end of the video, it shows empty chairs illustrating that no one is willing to give blood.

5) List five things (e.g. CSPs/topics/terminology) that you will revise before your upcoming assessment.

- Stereotypes

-Video games

-Zoella/Influencer

-Analysise terminoly (passive, Midstream...etc.)
