The Times case study- Introduction

1) What year was The Times founded and when did it start using the Times name?
The Newspaper, The Times, was founded in 1785 by an editor called John Walter. They renamed the newspaper as the times in 1788, before it was branded as the ‘Daily Universal Register’

2) What content did John Walter suggest the paper would offer in the first edition?
They were going towards the ideas of politics and around that category in the first edition, which was suggested by John Walter himself.

In the page it was presented as if they were supporting The New Labour and the Conservatives however they had issues and complaint to the content they had put on the newspaper. However, Walter claimed his right for the newspaper.

It was named British’s most trusted national newspaper meaning they have an increase in sale in result to this victory.

In my opinion, I can infer that they take there regulation very seriously, especially including complaints.

They have they slogan type, very similar to BBC which is to ‘ educate, inform and inspire’ throughout the content they present or produce towards customers in there Newspapers.
